Marine Science Instructor
Marine Science Instructors are responsible for leading groups of up to 16 students through the experiential marine science program at CIMI. They provide quality instruction and leadership while teaching marine science, as well as safely guide students while snorkeling, kayaking, and hiking. They ensure all programs are conducted in accordance with set policies and develop educational and instructional programs to meet the high standards of the program.

Assistant Program Director
The Assistant Program Directors are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations designated to their role. An APD may be responsible for scheduling and communication with schools, while another may be responsible for logistics and equipment, ensuring that the program is able to proceed as usual. Minimum Qualifications
In order to be considered for employment at CIMI, you must meet the following criteria:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in marine science or a related field.
- Desire to live and work in remote camp community.
- Desire to work with children and ability to supervise them in related activities.
- Have good character, integrity, flexibility and adaptability.
- Have enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control.
- Be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
- Have strong communication and human relations skills.
- Agree to a criminal background check.
- Be able and willing to treat all campers and staff fairly.
- Accepting of GDI Inclusion Policy.
Physical Qualifications
- Must possess strength and endurance required to hike, swim, and move kayaks and equipment.
- Have visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to camp activities. Able to assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury). Able to follow, observe, and enforce all camp safety regulations.
- Have the ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects when necessary.
- Be able to work in hot conditions, with temperatures up to 80-95 degrees while moving around camp.
